Every month at the lovelie non-profit office I work at in the District a small newsletter is issued about our surrounding centers and community contributions. There's also the fun "uplifting" quote (usually from the Oprah Magazine, I don't know why) and "Tip of the Month" segment. Just as I was lazily starring at my incredibly dissheveled desk, the words "online shopping" instantly captured my attention. But wait! "Online shopping" is part of the..."Green Tip of the Month" section? Huh. Apparently, according to my health-conscious work one should "do more shopping online - it saves on fuel and emissions and you may even score a bargin along the way." Now, it's not that I'm refuting this glorious claim, I just never expected to see such a promotion from an organization that caters to the health, wellbeing and sanity of its members. Persoanlly, online shopping is a source of pleasure yet subsequent insanity because I can't always get what I want. On that note, I should remind myself to reread my "young, fabulous and broke" posting...keep me grounded.
