A Friendly Morning Chat

As Ivy and I emerge from our St. Patrick’s Night stupor, we welcome the morning in with a wonderful conversation of…what else…fashion! Clothes! Vogue!

Ivy: You there today? :(
[Lauren was unfortunately extremely preoccupied with work yesterday and neglected Ivy in their usual daily chatter]
Lauren: I am! Sorry! Yesterday was so busy; I was doing about 5 different things
V: What were your thoughts on the Skagan watches?
L: I wasn't really too excited about them. I still really like the Toy watches - I'm going shopping today for John’s birthday present so I'm gonna peak then. You know what I want: a D&G bustier top. It's totally not what I would normally wear but I just think with the right torso it could be amazingly strong & sexy
V: Slut … [pause] … Haha DG on ruelala
L: Lol, perfect timing
V: You can pull it off…well I need a watch figured those were cheap; I didn't get one yet. And I thought you got boy a present online. Or was that your excuse to online shop…
[and our streak with keeping lent has progressed to utterly and disgracefully noncompliant]

Ivy (on my birthday purchases thus far): What?! That's what you got online?!? You should have gotten it at the Outlet
L: It was an extra 20% off my order and free shipping. Socks were like 3 for $18 and boxers were 2 for $20ish. Really, V, not bad.
V: Good. I'm proud then. These details are necessary with our online shopping detox. It's only necessary because there needs to be legit reasons for breaking it.

A lesson to be learned from this witty fashion banter of ours (all taking place while we down our fruit mixtures as we attempt to physically detox…we’ll see how successful we are at that when the shopping detox seems to be shot to shit currently): never ask Ivy if wearing a D&G bustier is a good idea. No need for insults when you’re hung-over and trying to be competent at work.

Skagan Stainless Steel Watch - a steal at $57 - but not what I had in mind...

Toy Watch Mother of Pearl in Black - not at steal at $275 but how fabulously casual is it!
