As we all gear up for this day of green fesivities (a horrible excuse to consume in excess and feel good about our supposed Irish lineage), I find myself stuck at work and wishing I could selfishly indulge in the same. However, I will instead patiently wait until the evening to join up with the already large group of shamrock revelers. Personally, I'm looking forward to a cool Bailey's on-the-rocks - absolutely potent and seasonaly appropriate. When such a holiday as this is littered with green - from green eggs in the morning with a fresh keg of brew, to someone's hidden green lingerie "just for kicks," it's nice to mellow out this kelp sea with a bit of cool color and flavor. That said, be daring in your celebration tonight - from what you wear to what you eat - keep ahead of the curve and take the impending Spring by storm! Mix the ubiquitous green into your wardrobe with some subtle florals (like this fabulous dress from Thakoon for Target, or, for a splurge, follow in the prescient footsteps of the young and fabulous and invest in this Alice+Olivia piece) and peep-toe pumps. And don't be confined by green beer from the keg - enjoy a festive cocktail that everyone will love and that won't kick too early in the night. A new personal favorite: follow the advice of this New York Times article by giving Irish Whiskey a twist to it's presentation.
